Revolution Race Cars

Many aerodynamic experiments are conducted in wind tunnels, to simulate real life situations while measuring the various drag forces on the car. These "Rolling roads" produce many wind situations and direct air flow at certain speeds and angles. When a diffuser is installed under the car, the amount of drag force is significantly lowered, and the overall aerodynamics of the vehicle is positively adjusted.

Time Attack Series

Wings and canards channel the airflow in the most efficient way to get the least amount of drag from the car. It is experimentally proven that downforce is gained and the vehicles handling is considerably changed when aerodynamic wings on the front and rear of the vehicle are installed. In auto racing, the racing setup or car setup is the set of adjustments made to the vehicle to optimize its behaviour (performance, handling, reliability, etc.). Adjustments can occur in suspensions, brakes, transmissions, engines, tires, and many others.

Formula 5000

Once moonshiners started to enter national races with their vehicles, a new racing series was born. In off-road racing, various classes of specially modified vehicles, including cars, compete in races through off-road environments. In North America these races often take place in the desert, such as the famous Baja 1000. Another format for off-road racing happens on closed-course short course tracks such as Crandon International Off-Road Raceway.

Since 1981, Audi Sport has stood for “Vorsprung durch Technik” in motorsport. The 2022 programme consists of marathon off-road rallying, including the Dakar Rally, and customer racing, as well as preparing for Le Mans 2023. The CR6 is our state of the art 2WD race car, a product of 10 years of R&D and an major evolution for the successful CR5.

Racing

Turismo Carretera (Road racing, lit., Road Touring) is a popular touring car racing series in Argentina, and one of the oldest car racing series still active in the world. The first TC competition took place in 1931 with 12 races, each in a different province. Future Formula One star Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1940 and 1941 editions of the TC. It was during this time that the series' Chevrolet-Ford rivalry began, with Ford acquiring most of its historical victories. A lot of automakers compete in multiple Touring Car series with similar cars. Since each series has its own set of rules, the race cars may have different performance and aerodynamic requirements.

Drive Any Vehicle

If you’re looking for the most exciting drag vehicles, you’ll want to look at top fuel dragsters. These 25-feet-long vehicles are oddly shaped with tiny front tires and monstrous rear tires. The odd design helps them hit speeds of up to 330 mph in a matter of a few seconds. NASCAR’s oval layout may not be that exciting compared to road racing courses, but there’s plenty of action.

America's historic Trans-Am Series is undergoing a period of transition, but is still the longest-running road racing series in the U.S.
